VISA Platform Connect: Specifications and Conditions for Resellers/Partners

The following are specifications and conditions that apply to a Reseller/Partner enabling its merchants through
Visa Acceptance platform
. Failure to meet any of the specifications and conditions below is subject to the liability provisions and indemnification obligations under Reseller/Partner’s contract with Visa/Cybersource.
  1. Before boarding merchants for payment processing on a VPC acquirer’s connection, Reseller/Partner and the VPC acquirer must have a contract or other legal agreement that permits Reseller/Partner to enable its merchants to process payments with the acquirer through the dedicated VPC connection and/or traditional connection with such VPC acquirer.
  2. Reseller/Partner is responsible for boarding and enabling its merchants in accordance with the terms of the contract or other legal agreement with the relevant VPC acquirer.
  3. Reseller/Partner acknowledges and agrees that all considerations and fees associated with chargebacks, interchange downgrades, settlement issues, funding delays, and other processing related activities are strictly between Reseller and the relevant VPC acquirer.
  4. Reseller/Partner acknowledges and agrees that the relevant VPC acquirer is responsible for payment processing issues, including but not limited to, transaction declines by network/issuer, decline rates, and interchange qualification, as may be agreed to or outlined in the contract or other legal agreement between Reseller/Partner and such VPC acquirer.

Solution Overview

Acceptance Devices is a card-present solution that includes pre-certified and pre-integrated devices and developer-friendly tools. Acquirers and resellers use the solution to quickly and easily enable in-store payment acceptance for merchants with Terminal and Tap to Pay options. Merchants can then integrate Acceptance Devices in their point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Boarding Acceptance Devices

Acceptance Devices is available for boarding in the
Business Center
. If the product is not enabled for your portfolio, contact your account or relationship manager.

Configuring and Managing Merchants

Use the information in this section to enable the Acceptance Devices product for your merchants in the
Business Center
. When enabling products, the recommendation is to use a separate transacting organization for Card Present and Card Not Present organizations. A transacting organization should represent a store location.

Prerequisites

Before setting up your portfolio to enable your merchants to use the Acceptance Devices product, verify that you can complete these tasks:
  • Log in to the
    Business Center
    with your username and your organization ID.
  • Manage templates and complete relevant forms.
  • Create, configure, and manage transacting merchant accounts in your portfolio.
  • Enable, configure, and disable products for merchants in your portfolio.

Enabling Card Processing and Acceptance Devices in the
Business Center

Before you can enable the Acceptance Devices product in the
Business Center
, you must enable the Card Processing product. In order for Acceptance Devices to function correctly during transaction processing, you must also configure some Card Processing template settings for card-present transactions.
Follow these steps to enable the Card Processing and Acceptance Devices products in the
Business Center
:
  1. See the Merchant Management Setup section of the
    Platform Implementation Guide
    for information about creating and managing merchant accounts and enabling products for transacting merchant organizations.
  2. Enable the Card Processing product first, in order for the Acceptance Device product to be available for enablement.
  3. When Card Processing is enabled, configure these Card Processing template settings:

Before starting any Boarding API integration activities, see the

When boarding a merchant using an API with Acceptance Devices, enable the
cybsReadyTerminal
product in the Payments section of
Selected Products
in the API request.

Distribution and Integration

Use the
Visa Acceptance Platform
to provide and distribute the Acceptance Devices product to your solution portfolio.
These implementation models can be used to distribute Acceptance Devices:
  • Acquirer or general ENT reseller
  • Solution integrator or tech partner
  • Standalone implementation
